The United Nations declared 2026 as the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP). Covering about half the world's land, rangelands are home to unique biodiversity and pastoral communities whose livelihoods depend on them. Pastoralists raise animals, contribute to food security, and hold diverse cultural heritage and local and indigenous knowledge, preserving ecosystems across the world.

Lands in motion, stewards of knowledge and the future.

This Logo evolves from the Yolda Initiative’s original design for the IYRP Global Alliance, aligning with the visual identity of the Year. It symbolizes mobility: reflecting nomadic rangelands and pastoralist communities. The circle represents the world and the journey of people together with animals. The figure composition emphasizes community, while the vibrant colour palette maintains continuity.
