The GIAHS emblem is a combination of two components: a pictogram and a logotype that spells ut the name of the programme “Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems”. Regarding the latter, in this logotype the words “Agricultural Heritage” are noticeably prominent compared to the rest of them. Regarding the pictogram, it is composed of a hand and a landscape, which represents the relationship between humans and agriculture. The different colour palette depicted such as blue, green and yellow, represents all agricultural sectors. The different shades of colours used in it highlight the seasons of lanting, growing and harvesting. Finally, the pictogram has a rounded shape that recalls the global approach of the programme.
